Secret Chinese Biolab Busted in California

Pandemic test kits, lab mice, and a lot of deadly bioagents uncovered in an illegal Chinese biolab, right under our noses

In a shocking discovery, a secret Chinese biolab was recently uncovered in Reedley, California.

Dubbed a "mysterious COVID lab," this unexpected revelation sends chilling waves of discomfort to anyone who has suspected the existence of secret biolabs on our home soil.

Despite the California location typically known for its picturesque countryside, a dubious company named Prestige Biotech was found running an illegal biolab making COVID-19 and pregnancy tests.

City officials first grew suspicious when they spotted a garden hose attached to what was supposed to be an empty building.

The Reedley City code enforcement officers promptly investigated, and what they unearthed was a true wakeup call for many of us who already knew that Chinese biolabs were being run out of Ukraine, but didn’t suspect them in California too.

Upon inspection of the building, a disturbing sight awaited them.

The lab contained infectious bacterial and viral agents such as Malaria, Rubella, HIV, chlamydia, E Coli, streptococcus pneumonia, hepatitis B and C, and herpes strains 1 and 5. Even more disturbing was the discovery of 900 genetically engineered mice, created explicitly to contract and carry COVID-19, with inhumane living conditions and staggering death rates amongst them.

Throughout the years, we have pointed out all the potential risks associated with unregulated biolabs. Today, the discovery of an illegal, unauthorized operation in the heart of California validates our concerns. While we don't yet know where the testing kits produced at this lab were being used, we know now more than ever that our vigilance must remain high.

Despite aggressive questioning by authorities, little information regarding Prestige BioTech's intent or purpose behind storing infectious agents and mice in Reedley has been provided. The irresponsibility and evasion by Prestige's representative has only added to the growing list of concerns.

News of the Reedley discovery has left residents, and indeed many Californians, rightfully concerned and full of questions.

• Why was a Chinese company operating an unlicensed lab here?

• Are there more such concealed labs endangering public safety?

• And most notably, were state authorities aware of this lab's existence?

It is critical to remain vigilant and attentive.

We must push for stringent oversight and demand transparency from the government in terms of bio lab regulations, for the risk lurks not only in the shadows overseas but also right here in our own country.

Those of us who know about the existence of biolabs in Ukraine, are not celebrating the existence of secret biolabs in California.
