Travelers Stranded
Four days since the global tech outage, air carriers were still struggling to recover, especially Delta Air Lines, resulting in thousands of travelers stranded. Delta’s CEO said it will take a couple more days before operations largely resume to normal. [more]

The federal government announced it’s awarding $4.3 billion in grants to fund climate projects. The Environmental Protection Agency says the 25 projects will use the funding to “implement ambitious local and regional climate pollution reduction measures to significantly reduce greenhouse gases by 2030 and beyond.” [more]
Illinois State Police released bodycam video footage showing the shooting of a woman - while in her home. In the video, a sheriff’s deputy shoots a woman in the face. The sheriff’s deputy is in jail, awaiting trial over charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct. [more]

Rival factions in Palestinian politics - the Hamas terrorist group and Fatah - signed an agreement in Beijing to end their yearslong rift. [more]
At least 146 people are confirmed dead in southern Ethiopia following mudslides and heavy rainfall in the area. [more]
